Temporary Landfill Equipment Operator
Competition: AE-2017-064

Acden Environment LP. is seeking one (1) Landfill Equipment Operators to join its Suncor MacKay River Site operations. This positions will consist of 14 on, 7 off; 10-hour day rotational shifts. This is a local position to the Fort McMurray/Wood Buffalo region. Candidate would need to have their own accommodations and transportation within the region. Please note: schedules, location and shifts may change from time to time due to operational requirements. This is a temporary position ending on or before June 30, 2017.

Duties and Responsibilities:
 Receive, sort, and prepare metal waste for removal from landfill.
 Perform Pre and Post usage vehicle inspections on heavy equipment, document and report deficiencies immediately.
 Receive and prepare wood waste for disposal (shred/chip, burn, or prep for transport).
 Operate wheel loader, dozer, compactor and road equipment as required.
 Perform minor repairs to roads/pads as required.
 Perform snow removal and litter disposal around the landfill site.
 Communicate with leadership concerning delays, unsafe sites, accidents, equipment breakdowns and other maintenance problems.
 Attending toolbox talks and safety meetings as scheduled, adhering to all company and site safety regulations and procedures.
 Additional duties as they may arise that would fulfill the mandate of providing complete service to the client.
Job Qualifications:Qualifications:
• Valid Class 1 or Class 3Q Operator’s license is required.
• Clean operator’s abstract (within 30 days).
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience operating excavator
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience operating heavy equipment (including: excavator, loader, dozer and compactor).
• Proven previous landfill/recycling experience will be considered an asset.
• SWANA Landfill Operation Basics (LOB) Certification is considered an asset.
• Clear and precise verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be a highly motivated individual.

• Comprehensive Drug, Alcohol, Audiometric and Visual pre-employment screening test.
• Valid Class 1 or Class 3Q Operator’s license (with a clean operator’s abstract).
• Must be eligible to work at all Oilsands client sites within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.
• Must be able to successfully complete an operator evaluation in the Fort McMurray region.
• Must have a valid OSSA and CSTS, and/or BSO certification.
