Class One Operator
Competition: AE-2017-068

Acden Environment LP. is seeking two (2) Class One Operators to join its Offsites operations. These positions will consist of 14 on, 7 off; rotations; 12-hour day shifts. This is a local position to Fort McMurray; candidates must have their own accommodations and transportation within the region.

The Class One Operator is responsible for the delivery of bins and waste collection services as well as the transportation of vehicles and heavy/over dimensional loads, using tractor and trailer combination. This position may also be responsible for operating a Lugger, Roll Off, and Front Load truck in a safe and appropriate manner as directed by Management.

Please note: Schedules, shifts and site locations may change from time to time to meet operational requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
 Safe and timely delivery of waste bins and waste collection services.
 Operate highway tractor trailer combinations as well as Roll Off truck and PUP trailer combinations.
 Ensure that all excess debris is properly and safely disposed of and cleaned up prior to leaving assigned areas.
 Operate truck mounted hydraulic hoisting devices as required.
 Inspect bins and report on condition and functionality or defects of bins.
 Conduct Commercial Vehicle inspections daily.
 Communicate with dispatchers concerning delays, unsafe conditions, incidents, equipment breakdowns and other maintenance or operational concerns as they arise. Document and report deficiencies immediately.
 Speak with customers to resolve minor customer concerns and refer customer complaints or questions to foreperson or operations supervisor.
 Attending toolbox talks and safety meetings as scheduled, adhering to all company and site safety regulations and procedures.
 Transportation of vehicles and heavy/over dimensional loads using tractor and trailer combination.
 Additional duties as they may arise that would fulfill the mandate of providing complete service to the client.
Job Qualifications:Qualifications:
 Valid Class One (1) Operator’s license is required with a clean operator’s abstract (within 30 days.)
 Minimum of 3 years of directly related operating experience; including tractor-trailer trucks.
 Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certification is considered a strong asset.
 Experience with Load Securement in accordance with Alberta Load Securement Practices.
 Previous experience operating roll-off truck, and front-load truck is strongly preferred.
 Clear and precise verbal and written communication skills.
 Must be a highly motivated individual.

Requirements:
 Comprehensive Drug, Alcohol, Audiometric and Visual pre-employment screening test.
 Class 1 License (with a clean operator’s abstract).
 Must be eligible to work at all Oilsands client sites within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.
 Must be able to successfully complete a driver’s evaluation in the Fort McMurray region.
 Must have a valid OSSA and CSTS, and/or OSSA BSO certification.
