NAABA’s Aboriginal Showcase Goes Virtual

The Northeastern Alberta Aboriginal Business Association (NAABA) has announced that they will be hosting their 14th Annual Aboriginal Business Showcase, presented by Suncor Energy, virtually on March 10 and 11, 2021.

NAABA feels that it is as important as ever to ensure that their Aboriginal Showcase goes ahead as they continue to steward Aboriginal growth and development in the region, despite COVID-19 and the disruption of events and lost opportunities that have come with it.

“If this past year has taught us anything, it is that we need to explore new ways to connect and conduct business,” says Jamie Harpe, President of NAABA Board of Directors. “By adopting an online platform, our Virtual Showcase can continue to provide opportunities for our members to present their latest work and achievements, make vital connections and foster collaboration. It also provides a platform for us to bring together decision-makers, business leaders and entrepreneurs from across the region, province and country to discuss current business trends and opportunities for the future.”

Many of the same events that have made the Showcase an impactful event in previous years will still be a part of the new virtual platform: entrepreneurial storytelling, keynote addresses, and focused business sessions. The virtual approach will also allow a wide audience to be reached and will provide valuable networking opportunities through live chat and video platforms.

As well, a virtual exhibitor hall will be open to all NAABA Certified Full Members, providing an in-depth look into the work that is taking place with and by Indigenous-owned businesses in the region.

Day one of the Showcase will be headlined by The Right Honourable Paul Martin, 21st Prime Minister of Canada, representing the Martin Family Initiative and Youth Aboriginal Entrepreneurship Program. Other keynote speakers include JP Gladue from A2A Rail and representatives from presenting sponsor Suncor Energy.

NAABA’s Aboriginal Showcase will be open to the public to attend. Tickets can be purchased here.
